I went for nearly an entire year without so much as glancing at a gemara unless I needed it for a reference, and it was wonderful. At some point (during an ongoing limmud/shiur in Hachsharat Avreichim by the Piaseczna) it became apparent to me that I would need to reincorporate some daily learning of Shas. After several failed attempts to find and retain a chavruta I made the next logical step of joining Daf Yomi right at the outset of the new cycle, hoping the schedule would provide enough of a framework to keep me current.<br /><br />At the moment I am maintaining that schedule but I find that the limmudim that speak to my shoresh neshama are being ever overshadowed.
